Apple Settles Siri Lawsuit for $95 Million: Find Out What You Could Receive

Apple has agreed to pay $95 million to settle a class action lawsuit over allegations that its Siri voice assistant violated users' privacy. The settlement could result in tens of millions of users receiving a share of the payout.

The lawsuit, known as Lopez v. Apple, Inc., was filed in 2019 by three plaintiffs who accused Apple of programming Siri to intercept conversations even when users hadn’t activated it with a hot word like "Hey Siri." Additionally, they claimed that recordings of these conversations were improperly shared with third-party contractors, violating users’ privacy.

Despite agreeing to settle, Apple denies any wrongdoing. The settlement still requires approval from US District Judge Jeffrey White in Oakland, California, before any payments can be distributed.

This case highlights ongoing concerns about privacy and technology, with Apple’s settlement serving as a reminder of the importance of transparency and data security in smart devices.

Stay tuned for updates on the settlement process and how eligible users can claim their share of the payout.
